Description
Nelson Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century, with a 17th century rear wing. It features slobbered rubble brought to course, stone dressings, and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has a double front facing the lane. The central entrance has a plain surround with a stepped base, a pulvinated frieze, and a moulded cornice. The entrance door is a 4-panel design, with the upper two panels glazed. On the ground floor, there are 3-light windows with moulded surrounds, flat-faced transoms, and mullions, while the upper floor has 2-light mullioned windows with moulded surrounds. The farmhouse has gable end stacks. The rear wing includes a 17th century double-chamfered 3-light mullioned window on the upper floor and a 17th century hood over a 20th century window on the ground floor.
