Description

53 West Burton Road is a pair of cottages, originally a lodge, dating from the early 19th century. It was part of the Dale Park Estate in the parish of Madehurst, within the Arun District, and may have originally served as the lodge for West Burton House. The building is in an L-shape, with two windows facing south and four facing east. It is constructed of coursed stone with a wide eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof. The casement windows have pointed heads to the window lights. A small square porch, originally gabled, now lacks its apex.
