Description

This building, originally a house and now a shop, dates to the 15th century, with alterations in the 18th century. It is timber-framed and plastered. The left return front displays exposed timber framing with yellow brick infill on the ground floor and plaster infill above, incorporating 18th-century straight braces. The roof is slate and hipped to the left, with a small brick stack at the left front corner and another to the rear. There are two flat-headed dormers on the left return front. The building is two storeys and has attics, with an irregular three-window front featuring glazing bar sashes in open boxes. A shop front from the early 20th century is present, featuring a glazed door in the centre to the right and a flush-panel door with an inserted upper window to the extreme right. A jetty projects from the left return front, supported by a dragon post. A traceried window of three lights is located on the first floor to the right and under the eaves. The interior reveals extensive timber framing and retains a hall truss, which is arch-braced; however, the roof appears to have been rebuilt.
