Description

White Cottage is a cottage built in 1912, designed by Jewell. It is constructed from blocks of stone, some of which have a rough surface, with stone dressings, a stone tile roof, and stone stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The central feature is a Venetian opening with a recessed top-lit door behind it. This opening is flanked by two Doric columns that support a central arch and a hood mould above. On either side of the entrance are three-light mullioned windows with leaded lights, and similar windows are found on the first floor, with two-light windows on each side of the three-light ones. The eaves of the hipped roof overhang, and there are ridge stacks at the third points. The interior reflects a dark Edwardian style.
