Description
Slindon War Memorial is a limestone structure featuring a tapering stone obelisk that rises from a tapering plinth and a stepped base. The front face of the plinth is inscribed with a dedication to those who fell in the First World War, which reads: "ERECTED BY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF THE VILLAGE CLUB IN MEMORY OF ALL WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914 – 1918 THE FOLLOWING ARE NAMES OF MEN FROM SLINDON (NAMES)." Below this, on the step, there is another inscription listing names and stating "1939 – 1945 (NAMES)."
