Description

Wheelwrights Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has undergone some renovation and a minor extension in the 20th century. The walls are made of painted stone rubble with a plinth. It features a half-hipped shingled roof with curved eyebrows above the dormers and has a central stack. The symmetrical front faces northeast and consists of one storey and an attic, with two windows and a central window that replaces a former doorway. The upper windows have casements, while the ground floor windows are sash types in exposed frames. The entrance is located in a later single-storeyed extension on the north side, which has a slate roof. A stone plaque on the building is inscribed with "AS TRA 1697."
