Description

Halnaker Windmill is a prominent landmark built in 1740. It was restored from a complete ruin in 1934. The windmill is a tower type but is lower than most tower mills. It is constructed of red brick, which is covered with a thin layer of burnt Sussex tiles. The cap is octagonal and has a beehive shape, made of metal sheets, and features a finial. The sweeps are intact, but the fantail is missing. Currently, the mill is only a shell with no internal floors or machinery.
