Description

The gate piers and railings in front of No 86 on Station Road date from the 18th century. They feature railings that rest on a low brick wall, designed for a small front garden. The cast iron railings have standards that display a combination of palmette and spearhead patterns. The square piers are adorned with quatrefoil and interlaced gothic patterns, topped with heavy urn finials. The gate itself incorporates designs that reflect both the railings and the piers.
