Description
No. 141 is a house dating from the early to mid 18th century, with some interior alterations made around 1900. The exterior is constructed of knapped flint, featuring stone quoins, window dressings, and a cornice. It has a moulded cornice beneath a plain tiled roof, which includes end stacks, two outer segment-headed dormers, and a central skylight dormer on the ridge. The house has two storeys and attics, with a regular five-window front. The first floor has glazing bar sashes, while the ground floor features sashes without glazing bars, all set in wide stone frames. The entrance has a central flush panel door within a porch, flanked by Doric columns that support an entablature hood. Above the porch hood is a small five-light window in a stone frame. Inside, there is significant 18th-century panelling, with the front room to the east featuring an alcove supported by columns and a depressed round arch above. Various other 18th-century fireplaces are found in other rooms, and there is a staircase from around 1900. Surrounding the enclosures to the south of the house are cast-iron arrow-head railings, with vase-head standards on either side of the door.
