29/394 The Gate-posts of the Wood-yard Gates to 5.11.73 Petworth House, North Street II

Gate-piers. These Gate-piers flank the entrance to the former Garage of Petworth House. They were probably the gate-piers of the medieval Petworth House or at least the house of 1576-1621. Circular piers of stone rubble with cornice and bluntly-pointed top above this.
