Description
The building known as "Milestone" is a Grade II listed structure located on the north side of New Street in Petworth. Originally two cottages, it has been converted into one dwelling and dates from the early 19th century. The building stands three storeys high and features two windows. The eastern cottage is constructed of stone rubble, while the western cottage is made of red brick. It has a tiled roof and casement windows. In the red brick garden to the south of the house, there is a milestone that is inscribed with "49 miles to London."
