Description
The south-east corner of the garden wall of Petworth House, located at the south-east corner of the wall of Petworth Park in Pound Street and Midhurst Road, encloses the kitchen garden and the park to the west, alongside the Armoury. The walls date from the 18th century and are constructed of stone with red brick coping and ventilation holes. Integrated into the wall is a building known as the Armoury, which resembles a parish room and was built in the early 19th century. This single-storey structure features three windows, is faced with Roman cement, and has a slate roof. The sash windows have glazing bars and dripstones above them, while the gable end to the east is adorned with scalloped bargeboards.
