Description

Old Timbers is a cottage located on Crows Lane in Farringdon. It dates from the early 17th century and early 18th century, with renovations made in the mid-19th century. The building features an exposed timber frame constructed in two phases, with brick infill that includes some herring-bone patterns. It has a plain tiled roof with tiled end gables, the northern gable displaying scalloped bands, and gabled dormers with cills positioned at eaves level. The east front consists of one storey and an attic, with two windows above three. The windows are casements with small lights, and there is a boarded door set in a plain frame. The south wall and part of the rear wing are made of malmstone, while the north gable is constructed of brickwork in English bond.
