Description

This is an 18th-century cottage, with 20th-century additions, located on Malthouse Lane, Bramdean. The cottage is built of flint with brick dressings and has a thatched roof. It is positioned at the roadside, with a 1½-story, two-bay design, extended by a bay added in the 20th century. A central door in the original road-facing bay is a 19th-century four-panelled door, sheltered by a thatched timber porch. A glazed door is situated at the end of the 20th-century bay. The cottage features 19th-century two- and three-light leaded casement windows with cambered heads, alongside later windows in the extended bay. Four eyebrow dormers are present, two in the 20th-century addition and two larger ones elsewhere. The roof is half-hipped, with a decorated ridge piece and ridge stacks above each door.
