Description

The Old Vicarage is a private house that was originally built as a vicarage around 1835 and later extended in the mid-19th century. The building is constructed of brick, which is partly colourwashed and partly covered in slate, with a slate roof. The house has an L-shaped layout that was later extended to form a rectangle, featuring a bay and gable attachment along with some 20th-century additions.

The garden front of the house is two stories high with two bays, and it is slate-hung. The original front has been remodelled to include two two-story canted flat-roofed bays. The right bay features French windows and tall sash windows on the sides, with a bipartite sash window above. The left bay has a tall bipartite sash window on the ground floor and similar windows above. Between the bays, there is a gable with decorative bargeboards, and below it on the first floor is a corbelled gabled oriel window with a bipartite sash, also adorned with a bargeboard. All windows have four-centred heads, and there are gable end stacks.

The entrance front has two gables with a half-bay between them and a bay on the left end. The right gable is part of the original house and the gable end of the garden front, while the rest is a mid-19th-century infill block. The windows on this side are similar to those on the garden front. In the half-bay, there is a glazed timber gabled porch featuring a four-centred arch leading to a fanlight and a six-panel double door. A stack is located on the face of the right gable, and there are bargeboards on the gable. A 20th-century addition is present at the left end.
