Description

Bex Barn is a 17th-century timber-framed barn located on Heyshott Mill Lane. It is clad in weatherboarding, with brick and stone rubble footings on the sides and rear, and features a tiled roof with gablets. The barn has an integral outshut on the left side and double cart doors. It consists of three bays, with an aisle on one side. The structure includes angled queen struts and rafters that do not have ridgepieces, as well as joweled upright posts and a midrail on the front wall. This barn inspired the 20th-century artist Ivan Hitchens to create a work titled "Curved Barn" in 1922.
