Description
This is an 18th-century barn located 40 metres south of the Manor House in Buriton. The barn features north and end walls made of malmstone ashlar, with brick dressings. It has a cemented plinth, quoins, cambered openings, and dentil eaves. Large oval arches mark the projecting wagon entrances, which are topped with gables that contain circular panels, one of which has a clock face. The rear south wall is boarded above a low wall, and the barn has a tiled roof.
The structure consists of ten bays with an aisle at the rear, featuring wider spacing at the entrances located at the third and eighth bays. The front is two-storeyed, with window-like openings at ground level that are filled in but include ventilation slots. Inside, the barn displays a standard timber frame, with splayed struts and curved braces along the south side, and the north end of each tie beam rests on the solid front walls. A lead fire-insurance sign is fixed above the clock.
