Description

This is a 18th-century cart bridge located 50 metres south-west of Lodge Farm in Tillington. It is constructed from cut Hythe sandstone and sandstone rubble. The bridge features a single arched humpback design with parapets. The cut stone arch has a central bay stone on both faces, and it is supported by canted retaining walls on two lines, with the lower air serving as cutwaters against the bank. This substantial structure provides access solely to a farmyard.
