Description

The Manning tomb, located 5 yards southeast of the Church of St John the Baptist, is a chest tomb dated 1779. It is constructed from dressed stone and features a stepped base with a moulded plinth. The corners are adorned with moulded squared tapering balusters and panels depicting vases. There are oval inscription panels on the sides and ends, which include fan-decorated spandrels. The tomb is topped with a corniced lid and is inscribed to Manning, who died in 1779.
