Description

This is a timber-framed building, likely dating from the late 16th or early 17th century, which was re-fronted in the 18th century and subsequently altered. It is arranged over two storeys with six windows across the front. The roof is steeply pitched and tiled, with the rear slope of number 24 rising to the level of the doorway at the back. The building has a U-shaped layout to the rear, revealing timber framing with malmstone and narrow brick infill. Timber framing and brick infill are also visible on the left-hand return. Some narrow brickwork, used during the 18th-century re-fronting, is visible on the ground floor front, and a brick band is seen below the later tile hanging on the first floor. Number 24 has been stuccoed. All windows are from the early 19th century or later replacements.
