Description

This is a pair of houses located on Priory Street in Lewes, dated 1837. The houses are constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing and dressings. They have a flat wooden eaves soffit beneath a slate roof, with chimney stacks at each end. The houses are three storeys high and have a two-window front. The windows are glazing bar sashes, set within dressed surrounds with gauged heads; the windows on the second floor have shallower surrounds than those below. A shopfront from the 19th century is on the ground floor to the left. There are paired doorways in the centre of the building; the doorway on the right has a panelled door and a transom light above, while the doorway on the left has a panelled and part-glazed door with a fanlight and a pediment supported by carved brackets.
