Description
Charlton Barns are former farm buildings of Charlton Farm, now part of the Weald & Downland Museum of Singleton. The buildings create an almost complete courtyard. The oldest and most notable section is the long barn on the east side, which dates from the 18th century or earlier. It is faced with weather-boarding on a flint base and has a half hipped roof made of corrugated iron. On the west side, there is a smaller 19th-century flint barn with a tiled roof. This continues along the western two-thirds of the south side. The north side originally had cart sheds but has been modernised and glazed.
