No. 40 Charlton Road is an 18th-century cottage located on the north side of Charlton Road in Singleton. The building is two storeys high and features three windows. It is constructed with flints and has red brick dressings and quoins. The roof is thatched and hipped at the east end. The cottage has casement windows.
