Description
Roachside Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-19th century, with some minor alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of red sandstone with a narrow-coursed ashlar front, featuring rusticated quoins and dressings. The rear elevations are made of coursed stone, and the building has a tiled roof with verge parapets and an eaves cornice. There is a dentil cornice and twin octagonal-shaft ashlar stacks at the ends.
The farmhouse has a symmetrical, two-storey front with a gable-lit attic and three windows. The windows are glazing bar sashes with rusticated surrounds and voussoirs, while the central window is arched with struck voussoirs. A raised string runs along the first-floor cill level. The central entrance features a 20th-century door with an overlight and a fluted cornice hood supported by scroll brackets. Additionally, there is a round-arch stair window at the rear.
