Description
No. 14 and No. 15 are a pair of cottages, likely built in the 18th century with some alterations in the early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and feature a clay tile roof with coped verges and brick integral end stacks. The cottages are two storeys tall with a gable-lit attic and consist of two single-cell units. Each cottage has two windows, which are two-light flat faced mullioned windows containing casements. The ground floor windows have straight dripstones, while the left window on the first floor has lost its mullion. There are doors located to the left of centre and to the right, both also featuring straight dripstones. A noticeable change in the masonry, approximately 18 inches above the heads of the first floor windows, indicates that the eaves level may have been raised, likely during the early 19th century. Additionally, there is a chamfered mullioned attic window on the south gable.
