Description
The Old Post Office is a house and former stable dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with hammer dressed ashlar quoins and dressings, topped with a clay tile roof featuring coped verges. The building has coursed and squared rubble ridge stacks and an integral end stack on the west side. It is a single storey structure, with the stable on the left (east) and the house on the right (west) under the same roof line.
The stable features a large two-leaf board door on the left with a shouldered lintel, a stable-type door in the centre with rounded top corners, a small window to the right, and a small pane window on the east gable. The house has a central projecting gable with a board door accessed by a flight of stone steps, a 20th-century panelled door to the left, a 20th-century casement window to the left of centre, and a small casement window to the right.
