Description
The barn at Gap House is likely from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed from coursed, squared, buff sandstone rubble and features a Kerridge stone-slate roof with a stone ridge. The barn has a long rectangular shape. The cart entrance is characterized by long and short quoining and a heavy wooden lintel. The lower storey contains seven rectangular openings with plain stone and concrete lintels. In the upper storey, there are three circular pitch holes with ashlar surrounds, which are also found in the gable ends.
