Farmhouse: rear range dated 1662, front range dated 1773 both for the Brocklehurst family, addition to right dated 1976. Coursed, squared, buff, sandstone rubble and sandstone dressings. Kerridge stone-slate roof and stone ridge to the front, Welsh slate in the valley. 4 gable stone chimneys., Square in plan with 2 parallel ridges. 2-storey symmetrical 3-bay east front. Sandstone plinth, rusticated quoins and ashlar band at 1st floor. End bays have 12-pane sashes under flat rusticated heads. Semi-circular headed, rusticated doorcase, over fanlight with radial glazing bars and a pair of C20 panelled doors. Datestone above reads G A B 1773 and a similar 12-pane sash above that. 2i-storey west front has a mixture of windows including a 2-light tall chamfered stone mullion, 2-light sliding sashes and a semi-circular headed light. Date plaque reads GB 1662. Interior: Appears to be mainly C19 but not fully inspected.
