Description
Colehurst Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1719, with 20th-century alterations and an addition to the rear. It is built of coursed squared buff sandstone rubble and features a composition tile roof with two stone chimneys. The building has a long rectangular plan, possibly including a cross-passage and a former farm building to the west. The south front of the house is two storeys high and consists of three bays. The left end bay has a heavy chamfered doorcase with a 20th-century door, above which is a plaque reading "AS 1719." To the right, there are a pair of French doors and three 2-light casements set under rough stone lintels. Inside, the right end bay was formerly two rooms, one of which contains an inglenook fireplace with chamfered beams and uprights, along with similar ceiling beams that have flat stops.
