Description

Throwley Hall is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed with stucco that mimics ashlar stonework. It features a hipped slate roof that overhangs the eaves, with ashlar stacks at both ends. The building is oriented northwest to southeast, with a southwest-facing main section and a rear wing aligned northeast to southwest that includes stables.

The farmhouse is two storeys tall and has three bays with glazing bar sash windows that have horns. The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door topped with a rectangular overlight, and it is framed by a Tuscan porch adorned with ball finials. On the northwest front, the main house is to the right, while the rear wing is to the left. The main house has two bays with glazing bar sashes, and to the left, there is a single-storey porch featuring ball finials and reused 16th-century windows from Throwley Old Hall on either side. The rear wing is built from coursed and squared limestone rubble, accented with ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a hipped plain tile roof. It is also two storeys high, with two bays that include chamfered mullioned windows on the first floor; the left window has three lights, while the right has two lights. The centre of the rear wing has two stable doors, with an inserted window to the left and an inserted garage door to the right.

Throwley Hall is part of a picturesque group of buildings that includes Throwley Old Hall and Throwley Barracks.
