Description
Cliffe Cottage is a house from the early 19th century that incorporates earlier work. It is built from coursed squared gritstone with quoins, features coped gables with moulded kneelers, and has end ridge ashlar stacks with moulded caps, all topped by a slate roof. The building has an 'L' plan, with a rear wing that is lower and older than the main range.
On the southeast elevation, the house has two storeys and two bays, with flush surrounds around the window openings that contain 20th-century joinery. The central doorway features moulded jambs and a lintel, along with a dripmould above. The six-panelled door has a rectangular overlight. The lower range includes 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned openings and flush mullioned windows.
