Description
The Church of St Agnes and the attached school were built in 1840. The structure is made of coursed stone with ashlar dressings and features a stone slate roof. The roof has verge parapets that support ball and block pinnacles at the kneelers and apex.
On the south front, the school is a single bay to the west, complete with an end stack and a continuous ridge that connects to the church, which has two bays. The school is two stories high, while the church is a single story. The facade features a 1-1-2 window arrangement, with a two-storey gabled entrance porch projecting to the left of the center. The ridge of the porch is set under the eaves. The church has two 32-paned windows, while the school has glazing bar sashes and a fixed light above the entrance porch, which has a boarded door. A datestone is located in the apex of the porch, and there is a wooden pyramid-roofed louvred cupola on the main ridge behind the porch, set on a moulded surbase and plinth.
At the east end, there is a small gabled 'chancel' bay window with pinnacles and a tripartite east window. The church was erected through public subscription at a cost of £300, as noted in the History of Longnor Church.
