Description
Rutland Terrace consists of a terrace of four houses, now converted into flats, dating from the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of deeply coursed sandstone with ashlar dressings, and limestone rubble is used at the rear. They feature a Welsh slate roof.
The exterior is three storeys high, showcasing a repeated sequence of four symmetrical facades, each with three bays framed by pilasters that have moulded capitals. There is a plinth, and the windows are 6/6 sashes with projecting sills in plain surrounds on the ground and first floors, while the second floor has 3/6 sashes. Each house has a central doorway with a moulded four-panel door and a margin-glazed overlight, all beneath a cornice supported by shaped brackets. The eaves band and unmoulded cornice include a blocking course, and there are gable copings. The end stacks feature bands and cornices, with four-flue stacks positioned on the party walls. The pilasters wrap around both the front and rear corners of the buildings. The interior has not been inspected.
