Description
"Take Off" stone is a marker stone located approximately 85 metres north of the Strines Public House. It is likely from the 18th century and is made of roughly-hewn sandstone with a rounded top, standing about 0.5 meters high. The stone is inscribed with the words "Take Off," indicating the point where an additional horse provided by the township for the waggoner should be removed from the cart. This stone is situated at the beginning of the climb out of Strines Valley.
