Description
Lodge to Cressbrook Hall, likely built around 1843 by Weightman & Hadfield. The lodge is constructed from coursed squared limestone with gritstone dressings and vermiculated quoins, featuring a chamfered fishscale Welsh slate roof. Other details include stone coped gables with moulded kneelers and finials, a stone eaves stack, and a gable end stack. The design is Tudor style, comprising a single storey with an attic. The north-west elevation has a projecting gabled bay containing a tripartite mullion window, with the central light being taller and featuring a transom. A stepped dripmould is present, along with a breather opening above. A gabled wooden porch is set back to the left, and a gabled dormer is located above. A large 20th-century addition on the south-west is not considered a feature of particular interest. A low garden wall runs along the boundary, with chamfered copings and octagonal piers topped with a rustic wooden fence. Matching gates complete the arrangement.
