Description

Beeley Hilltop Farm Cottage and its attached outbuildings date from the 18th and 19th centuries, with some alterations made in the 20th century. The structure is built from coursed rubble sandstone with sandstone dressings and features a stone slate roof, which has brick ridge and gable stacks, as well as two stone stacks in the pitch of the roof. The building is two storeys high and has an L-plan layout, with the house forming most of the south wing.

On the east elevation, there is a doorway in the angle that has a 20th-century half-glazed door. To the left of this door is a large two-light window, and to the right is a large three-light window, both featuring square section flush mullions. Above these, there are two similar windows and a single light window over the door.

The west elevation consists of five bays. It has an off-centre doorway with stone jambs and a lintel, topped by a bracketed stone hood. To the right of the doorway is a two-light casement window with a massive stone lintel and jambs. To the left, there is a three-light casement window and a two-light casement window, both with massive stone lintels and jambs. There are also two similar three-light windows and a similar two-light window above these.

The lower range to the north is now partly incorporated into the house and features a segmental arched cart entrance leading into the courtyard. There is a long return range of outbuildings under a continuous roof, which is blind to the north. To the south, there are 20th-century garage openings and three square windows above.
