Description

This outbuilding, located approximately 30 metres east of Lowna Farmhouse, dates back to around 1860 and was built for Thomas Baxter. It features squared limestone construction, with the end wall faced in red brick arranged in English garden wall bond, and has a pantile roof. The building has sliding board doors beneath a timber lintel at the centre, and to the left, there is a square window with a stone lintel. The rear of the building has four blocked window openings, each with timber lintels. Inside, a soaking pit is visible along one side, supported by three fine king-post trusses. Currently, the building is used for storage.
