Description

Thorn Stone is a boundary stone, likely dating from the early 18th century. It is made of sandstone and is roughly shaped as a monolith, standing approximately 1.5 metres high. The west face of the stone is inscribed with the letters "T D," which stands for Thomas Duncombe, who was the former Lord of the Manor of Helmsley.
