Description

Blue Cottages are two cottages located in Osmotherley, dating from the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from coursed, squared stone and feature a Welsh slate roof.

No 38 is two storeys high with one bay. It has a board door to the left and a 12-pane side-sliding sash window with a stone sill in the center, both of which are topped with hoodmoulds. The first floor has a similar window to that below. The cottage has shaped kneelers, stone coping, and end stacks.

No 36 is attached to the right of No 38 and is one storey tall with five bays. It features a board door to the left of the right-hand bay, and the windows are 12-pane side-sliding sashes with stone sills, all with hoodmoulds. The roof is hipped to the right and has a ridge stack.
