Description

Mowthorp Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse built of hammer-dressed sandstone with a slate roof and brick stacks. The building features a central stairhall plan and is two rooms deep. It has a symmetrical two-storey front with three windows. Stone steps lead up to a central half-glazed door that is topped with a rectangular fanlight. The windows throughout the farmhouse are 16-pane sashes with stone sills and lintels, with the ground floor windows being taller than those on the upper floor. The gables are coped and have plain kneelers, and there are stacks at each end of the building.
