Description
The Keeper's House is a late 18th-century house located in Hackness, North Yorkshire, with a 20th-century alteration. It is constructed of dressed sandstone and features a slate roof along with rebuilt brick stacks. The house has a central-entry plan, is one room deep, and includes a continuous outshut. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. The entrance consists of a 20th-century glazed door with a divided overlight, flanked by 16-pane sash windows, while the first floor has 12-pane sash windows. All windows have stone sills and flat arches above them. The house displays a stepped eaves course, coped gables, and shaped kneelers, with end stacks. At the rear, there is a single-storey outshut with a catslide roof.
