UGTHORPE A171 NZ 81 SW (north side) off 6/253 Mulgrave Farmhouse and 6.10.69 adjoining outbuildings
GV II Farmhouse, probably later C18. Sandstone ashlar. Stone slate roof, repaired in Welsh slates, with stone ridge, copings, kneelers and stacks. Rear extension C19 in rockfaced sandstone. 2 storeys, 3 windows. Central C19 glazed wood porch with margin lights and bargeboarded gable. On both flors flanking 4-pane sashes with extended notched lintels. Narrow quasi-Venetian window at first floor centre. Moulded kneelers; stepped and corniced and chimneys. Rear out- building extension has boarded doors, small part-boarded openings, with projecting cills, and centre stack. Two-seater privy under pent roof at end. Another l-storey gabled extension links with wall to stable yard: windows have extended lintels with raised keystones. Interior Late C18 staircase with turned balusters and closed storing. Doors of 6 fielded panels; panelled shutters; cornice and marble chimneypiece in parlour; dado rails in 3 bedroosm. Extension has old fireplace with peat slab.
