Description
This barn, located approximately 30 metres to the north-west of Village Farm, is likely from the 16th century and features a cruck frame that was clad in the early 18th century. The barn is constructed from coursed squared stone and consists of three internal bays. The west front, which faces the road, has quoins and a small opening to the left of centre with a wooden lintel and slats. There is a wood-framed board door set under the eaves at the right end, and the roof is steeply pitched and swept. On the right side, there are square holes at tie-beam level and a triangular pattern of bird-holes in the gable. Inside, there are three pairs of crucks with collars, tie-beams, and hakings for wall-ties, although the wall-ties have been removed. A shed has been added to the left gable, and there is a covered yard attached to the rear, which is not considered of special interest.
