Description

Rose Cottage is an early 19th-century house with later 19th-century window replacements. It is constructed of hammered sandstone on a chamfered plinth, with a slate roof. The house is arranged in a central stairhall plan, with one room depth and a rear service wing. The two-storey, two-window front features panelled double doors beneath a gabled trellis porch. The windows are four-pane sashes with tooled lintels and painted sills. The roof has coped gables and coved kneelers, and there are end stacks. At the rear, there is a sixteen-pane ground floor sash and a four-pane first-floor sash, both with painted, tooled sills. The left return also has sixteen-pane sashes with painted, tooled sills. The building is included on the list for its group value.
