Description
This pair of boundary stones, dating from the early 19th century, is located approximately 1,870 metres south of Tidkinhow Farmhouse. The stones are made from roughly-dressed limestone. The stone to the west measures about 37 cm by 25 cm and stands one metre high, with the west face inscribed with 'S.K. A.W.D 1814 T.C. 1856 G'. The second stone, to the east, is approximately 30 cm square and 67 cm high, and it has no inscriptions or marks. These stones are situated at the junction of the boundaries of Guisborough, Commondale, and the former Stanghow parishes, as well as on the boundary between the counties of Cleveland and North Yorkshire.
