Description

The 1914-1918 War Memorial is located on the north side of Main Road in Aislaby. Erected after 1918, it is made of stone. The memorial features a round, stepped base that supports a square battered plinth. Atop the plinth is a Celtic cross adorned with interlaced ornamentation. The plinth includes panels that have the names of the fallen inscribed, with additional names from the 1939-1945 conflict added later.
