Description
The Orangery is an orangery located within the grounds of Duncombe Park, dating from around 1730. It is constructed of rubble with a rusticated sandstone facing and features a tripartite plan, consisting of two wings flanking a central room. The building is a single storey with eleven bays arranged in a 4:3:4 configuration.
The central section has three tall, four-light round-headed windows that are separated by Corinthian pilasters, which are paired at the corners. A dentilled cornice runs along the top, and a plain parapet supports urns that correspond to the pilasters. The roof is flat. The wings, which are half the height of the central section, have square unglazed window openings that are separated by rusticated pilasters, which carry a projecting cornice. The roofs of the wings are missing.
