Description
This is a house located immediately to the south of West View, dating from the early to mid 18th century. It is constructed from limestone rubble that is brought to course and features a Roman tile roof along with 20th-century stone stacks. The building has a three-cell hearth-passage plan and is two storeys high, with three windows on the first floor. The entrance includes a 20th-century half-glazed door, with a three-light Yorkshire sash window to the left and a fire window. To the right, there are two three-light Yorkshire sash windows, all of which are set beneath wooden lintels. On the first floor, there are three more three-light Yorkshire sash windows. The roof is steeply pitched, with sprocketed eaves and stacks at both the ends and the ridge. Inside, there is a fireplace with a hood and shaped brackets that contains parts of two 19th-century ranges made by Carter of Kirkbymoorside and Yates of Malton.
