Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 1 metre south of the west end of the Almshouses, is likely from the late 17th century and features a later addition. It is constructed from coursed squared stone with herringbone tooling and has pantile roofs. The building is two storeys high, with a lower one-bay addition at the southern end. There is a doorway in the north gable and a tall opening on the east side with a stone lintel. Inside, the structure includes a tiebeam that supports a king post, along with slightly-curved braces to the purlins, a ridge piece, and rafters. The addition contains a set-pot. This outbuilding is an unusual example of a minor structure from such an early period.
