Description

Seascape is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated on King Street in Robin Hood's Bay. The house is constructed of coursed, herringbone-tooled sandstone, with a slate roof featuring stone copings and kneelers, and a rendered stack. It is two storeys and an attic in height, with two wide bays. A 20th-century door is set within a doorcase consisting of panelled pilasters and a low-gabled hood, positioned off-centre. Flanking this door are 16-pane sash windows with external shutters; similar sash windows are found on the first floor, all with stone cills. Above the door is a lifebelt marked “SEASCAPE, RHB”. A large 20th-century dormer window with 24 panes is present, and a chimney is at the right-hand end of the building.
